From water treatment chemicals to activated carbon, biopolymers and process technology, we supply extensive solutions for water and air purification that ensure a cleaner environment for everyone. Our water and air portfolio consists of tailored solutions for industrial and municipal customers, including rental and full systems, basic and specialty chemicals, and circular economy options such as activated carbon reactivation and rental adsorber services.

Our activated carbon products have been trusted by customers since the 1970s. We offer both virgin and reactivated carbon, including reactivation services. Our activated carbon is suitable for applications in drinking water, wastewater, process water, gas emission treatment, and specialty applications. We provide a range of standard and impregnated activated carbons, available in granule, powder, and pellet form.

In addition, we offer reactivation services as a circular economy solution that reduces CO2 emissions by an estimated 80% without compromising process performance. Our activated carbon products come from coal, wood, and coconut sources. Contact us today to learn more about how our activated carbon solutions can meet your specific needs.

Our range of membranes includes reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), and membrane bioreactors (MBR). We offer membrane elements as well as rental and full equipment systems to meet your specific needs. To ensure maximum performance and efficiency, we also provide performance services that simulate and identify the best product for your application.

Our membranes are available for various applications, including brackish water and seawater desalination, dairy processing, and specialty applications. We also offer high-temperature membranes to suit more demanding applications. Contact us today to learn more about our membrane solutions and how we can assist you.

Ion exchange is a widely used process in water treatment, which includes various applications such as water softening, industrial demineralization, ultrapure water production, condensate polishing, and wastewater treatment. The ion exchange process can also be used as a separation method in non-water processes, like chromatographic separation and desiccation. This technique finds special utility in several industries such as chemical synthesis, manufacturing, mining, power generation, food processing, agriculture, and many others.

Haarla provides a range of resins for different applications such as air and gas treatment, chromatography, mineral extraction, sugar processing, and more. We also offer resin condition analysis services for our customers to ensure optimal performance and long service life.

Our range of resins includes strong acid cation (SAC) resins, weak acid cation (WAC) resins, strong base anion (SBA) resins, weak base anion (WBA) resins, mixed bed (MB) resins, dry ion exchange resins, inert resins and ultrapure water resins, among others.

Organic coagulants and flocculants are highly efficient solutions for applications in wastewater treatment, mining, pulp & paper, raw water treatment and even lakes and ponds remediation. Our tannin-based organic coagulants are carbon-negative products, which can replace traditional aluminum and iron-based coagulants as well as anionic and cationic flocculants. Our organic product range is produced from a natural source and is fully biodegradable.

By using organic coagulants, we offer environmentally friendly and biodegradable solutions that often require decreased dosing rates compared to common coagulants. This may increase performance while decreasing the cost of treatment. Our organic coagulants and flocculants are highly effective with oily wastewater streams such as those found in dairy production, oil refineries and slaughterhouses, but they have also been found to work efficiently in many other conventional application areas where coagulation and flocculation is needed. There are also products suitable for drinking water applications and sometimes a traditional chemical combination of coagulant and flocculant can be replaced with only one product to reach a similar effect.

Our organic coagulants and flocculants are designed to enhance the performance of water treatment processes. They are highly efficient in removing suspended particles and other impurities from wastewater, making it cleaner and safer for reuse or discharge.

Acidity regulators are an essential component in many industrial processes that require precise pH control. Our acid and base chemicals are available for delivery in liquid packed in IBC or as bulk loads, or in solid packed in small or big bags to meet your specific needs. Many of our acidity regulators are also food approved, ensuring that the chemical storage stations and equipment remain in good condition while also meeting regulatory requirements.

Our team understands the importance of reliable and efficient chemical delivery, which is why we work with our customers to ensure that we provide them with the highest quality products and services. Whether you need to adjust the pH of your product or are looking for a solution for your wastewater treatment process, we have the experience and expertise to help you find the right acidity regulator for your specific needs.

Our range of specialty chemicals includes various solutions such as corrosion inhibitors, deposit control chemicals, biocides, and other specialty chemicals like heavy metal polisher flocculants as well as odor and H2S control chemicals.

These chemicals can be used in various applications including boiler water, cooling water, RO water, heat exchangers, pasteurizers and sterilizers, evaporators, and other process streams treatment. We also have a range of specialty chemicals suitable for food applications, ensuring that they are safe and approved for use in the food industry or food contact applications.

Our deposit control chemicals are designed to prevent and remove various types of deposits that may accumulate in water pipings. One very commonly found issue is the buildup of calcium deposits when lime milk is used as a pH regulator and any sulfates are present. This will cause the calcium to precipitate as calcium sulfates which can stick to the pipe walls and eventually clog the piping forcing a separate cleanup to take place.

At Haarla, we offer a wide range of rental equipment and full systems for short-term and long-term use. Our rental equipment includes activated carbon filters, which are available in sizes ranging from 1 M3 to 20 M3 of activated carbon installed per mobile filter. We also provide carbon reactivation and adsorber replacement services, making it easy for our customers to replace the carbon without getting their hands dirty. Our activated carbon filters are suitable for air treatment (for example odor, VOC, H2S or ammonia removal), water treatment (TOC, color, taste PFAS, pesticides, and other impurities removal) or other liquid stream treatment purposes (for example sugar purification). We also offer food-grade systems for our customers’ convenience.

Additionally, we provide RO and UF membrane systems, which are available in both ceramic and polymeric membrane options. Our full systems are available in a readymade rack or they can be customized to meet the specific needs of our customers. With our full systems, our customers can enjoy hassle-free plug and play installations, easy maintenance, and efficient water and process stream purification.

Haarla offers a range of solutions to address the challenge of dust control. In certain weather conditions, storing dry and fine raw materials in large piles outdoors can cause dusting, which can create problems for local communities, cause discoloration in the surrounding areas, and potentially pollute the environment. Even vehicles driving on unpaved sand roads or delivering dusty cargo can lift dirt into the air, leading to the spread of dust.

To combat these issues, we provide effective dust control methods that can minimize the dusting effect. Our methods involve the application of a chemical water mixture which creates a long-lasting layer of crust on the treated material piles or roads. This helps to prevent dust from spreading with the blowing wind. This is an ideal solution for companies that want to ensure a clean and safe environment for their employees, customers, and local communities.

“We get a call on Saturday at 11:00 from production plants shift manager saying that they are in trouble, as they forgot to order truck load of critical chemical. His question: “how fast can we deliver?”. Few phone calls and earlier strategic choice of entrepreneurs as warehouse & bulk transports responsible made it possible for us to deliver within 5 hours from the request. The plant didn’t stop.”
